Story about buying Dell monitors due to Mike Dell not liking all the
Macs he saw at Enfatico.
They are working on their company culture. “You’re an adult.”
“What tools are you using?” Heavy Concept Share use…as well as many
others.
T-bone was here yesterday. Pointed out that they needed to rollout
culture plan.
A significant percentage of staff are not full time employees.
(this guy basically is in meetings all days…just like Dell employees.)
MTV show is about to be pitched. Cool MTV kids come up with product
ideas. Public interacts with them, making suggestions etc.

“there’s so many issues with Dell.” due to silo’ed structure.
So much data. Promise is to be able to measure everything. Having to
talk Dell into what is the right data and right way to look at it.
Helping Dell test out various measurement models.
Trying to get Dell to let them test some best practice email practices.
“why are you doing this?” The challenge.
“Is the bad press making it hard to hire new people?” No
Just listed 3 or 4 non-WPP agencies doing Dell work for various reason.

Had to work the Dell political silo’ed structure.
WPP has hiring freeze.
The limelight was a challenge.
Still getting out 1000s of pieces of work each quarter. 5 global
campaigns.

June 18, 2009Josh Sklar, Global CD etc at Enfatico (Austin) is presenting.
Dell was looking for efficencies in their advertising.
All the big holding companies went to the mattesses over the Dell
account.
WPP had a track record to pull it off.
Project DaVinci starts – temp folks from various WPP who won the biz
went back to their home agency.
No one left to watch/know what was going on.
Hard to figure out who is Dell.
Tried to not drop any balls.
Promise was to be a true totally integrated agency. No such a thing
currently happening anywhere. This is still the goal.
Hardest part is finding the right people.
