Marketing Manager

The Wi-Fi Alliance (Austin) is seeking a Marketing Manager with strong generalist experience to both drive program development and to develop high-impact internal and outbound marketing programs. He/she will work with the marketing and technical talent within our organization and with Wi-Fi Alliance member companies, driving industry-visible efforts that support the mission of establishing Wi-Fi technology as the center of seamless connectivity.

The successful candidate is a consummate team player who embraces tasks of all disciplines and complexity with unwavering enthusiasm and commitment. He/she thrives in an ever-changing startup atmosphere, leveraging limited resources and independently juggling many challenges and priorities while providing exemplary customer service to a rapidly-growing industry.

Core Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, guidance and support of global PR programs with positioning, messaging, press releases, research, media content, spokesperson preparation and coordination of media event logistics
• Support marketing initiatives such as program launches, trade shows and co-branding efforts as well as member focused meetings and events
• Within a team environment, drive market development projects which may include retail outreach, worldwide speakers bureau and interactive and social marketing including web content, newsletters, and industry blogs
• Manage third party marketing focused vendors including PR, working together with them and internal team to develop product and service-related news and pitch stories to press, analysts and partner organizations
• Oversee some primary market research/polling activities and market research assets
• Engage and develop strong relationships with member company representatives to deepen participation among marketing and branding resources in WFA activities
• Support marketing task groups in development and launch of industry-wide testing and validation programs for variety of target markets and applications
• Requires US and international travel (25%+)

Experience

• 5+ years of marketing programs and product marketing experience
• Proven ability to develop and manage marketing communications programs across a variety of media
• Strong messaging and positioning experience, coupled with a strong writing aptitude
• Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts
• Demonstrated market research, analytics and reporting experience
• International experience a plus
